The Hooks!

I like the juxtaposition of the anglers' rods and the massive cranes on the waterfront...strange and interesting place Dubai must be...

Yes, the rods and crane necks really dominate the scene, like a scene from 'War of the worlds'.

A superb photograph. I'd like a go on the big wheel

That's a beautiful shot and an apt title as well

Posted by: Thomas,  [ October 30, 2008 6:09 PM

Excellent composition!

A fascinating scene of so much construction. I like the interplay of the fishermen's poles with the cranes. Nice one.

such a contrast the fisherman in the river like at one with nature, then the high rises and construction in the background, wonderful capture, love the title so apt

I like all those cranes and the fishermen with their own cranes too :)

Posted by: Olivier,  [ October 31, 2008 5:10 AM

So many lines going in so many different directions... Lots of interesting things to look at in this image.

Posted by: willow,  [ October 31, 2008 5:14 AM

The thing I really like about this capture is the lines contained in it which is also emphasized by the 2 fishermen.. interesting

Posted by: Adetokunbo Adesanya,  [ October 31, 2008 5:44 AM

I agree with Elaine it almost looks like the buildings are fishing too with those cranes on top!! An amazing photo!

Nice to see, that in the middle of all the buzzy construction works, some people still take the time to enjoy life with some fishing.
Nice shot.

Posted by: Peter,  [ November 1, 2008 8:08 PM

fit together all the hooks, on top of the buildings and in the sea.

Very nice image. A strange contrast of the 2 fishermen against the new buildings.

Posted by: One,  [ November 3, 2008 7:01 AM

Very nice picture where the hooks are fishing stones instead of what is necessary for life
